Jaja Finance partnered with Bud to transform raw transaction data into meaningful insights. With its new Spending Habits feature, powered by Bud’s Enrich and Engage products, Jaja has boosted customer engagement and delivered a more intuitive, wellbeing-focused app experience.
"We believe financial clarity should be simple and efficient for our customers. By partnering with Bud, we’ve transformed raw transaction data into meaningful insights that empower our customers to better understand and manage their spending. The launch of our Spending Habits feature is just the beginning—we’re committed to building smarter, more intuitive tools that support financial wellbeing and deliver a market-leading, customer centric, app experience."
As a digital-first credit card provider, Jaja’s goal is to make sure that its customers have a market-leading app experience that not only helps them manage their Jaja products but also gives them valuable insights into their spending habits while ensuring their financial health.
The problem with displaying raw transactional data to a customer is that transaction descriptions are often long, confusing and not written with people in mind. In the worst cases, this can even lead customers to worry or even dispute transactions they don't recognise. Enter Bud.
With the help of Bud’s Enrich and Engage products, Jaja aimed to boost engagement by empowering customers with deeper insights into their financial habits.
As a starting point, Jaja released a new Spending Habits feature which shows customers a clear breakdown of where their money goes, by category and by merchant. Powered by Bud’s Enrich product, transactions are shown in an easy-to-read format with the category, merchant and logo being front and centre. And that makes a big difference – in fact, Bud’s own research has shown that displaying transactions in this way increases customer recognition by up to 47%.
Later in 2025, Jaja will continue improving their Spending Habits feature. With the help of Bud, customers will be able to spot regular and future transactions so that they can stay on top of important expenses such as rent, mortgage or bill payments, so they can plan with confidence. Not only will this drive engagement in the Jaja’s app – it will also help customers manage their credit better.
Alongside showing regular and future payments, Jaja is planning to introduce Bud’s Actionable Insights. These are out-the-box insights designed to give customers helpful, , timely and relevant notifications based on their spending. Jaja will use these insights to provide more personalized support and highlight other products that could make managing money easier.
Jaja is also introducing a new way for their cardholders to understand their finances with its new AI-powered Spending Habits feature. This intelligent tool allows customers to ask questions like, “How much did I spend on takeaways in the last 3 months?”—unlocking personalised insights with ease. By combining action-based queries with category and timeframe filters, customers gain instant clarity on their spending patterns without needing to navigate complex menus. This feature not only enhances its customers financial awareness but delivers an intuitive customer experience that feels personal and empowering.
Since launching Spending Habits, Jaja has seen a nearly 18% increase in the average daily session for their customers who are actively using the feature. Alongside the increase in engagement, Jaja has also reported a 12% increase in credit card utilisation for Spending Habits users.
